Game rules

These rules keep CatBud relaxed, fair, and welcoming. The examples are representative: conduct causing substantially the same harm may be addressed on evidence, but cannot add an immediate termination ground under the Catnip Terms, reduce required process, or limit a player's legal rights.

The Traditional Chinese version governs. All other languages are supporting translations only.

Fair play and automation

  • Do not use cheats, scripts, or unauthorised features—such as KillAura, Reach, X-ray, Fly, blueprint printers, bots, or removed mining cooldowns—to gain an unfair advantage or bypass normal settings. Reporting conduct is not an automatic exemption; a verified good-faith test may go unpenalised only where its impact was not expanded, no one else's data was accessed, no benefit was obtained or retained, and the tester stopped immediately.
  • Auto-click, hold, and fishing may be used only within the announced scope in ordinary worlds. They must not obtain benefits unattended, evade restrictions, or affect fairness, and are prohibited in instances, PVP, events, and any separately restricted area.

Accounts, economy, and trades

  • No laundering, multi-account abuse, assistance in evading restrictions, or transfer of improper benefits. Simultaneous login is irrelevant. Accounts may not be shared, transferred, or traded, and real money, external virtual currency, top-ups, or boosting may not be advertised or traded.
  • Player trades require identifiable agreement, terms, and performance. Threats, fraud, counterfeit goods, unjustified non-performance after receiving consideration, and refusal to return benefits with no contractual or legal basis may be addressed on the evidence. CatBud does not guarantee player trades.

Minors and adult content

  • Do not distribute sexual, obscene, or other 18+ material through text, images, voice, signs, names, skins, or any other visible content, or send unsolicited indecent content to another person.

Property, buildings, and access

  • No theft from private or public containers, farms, or facilities; unauthorised damage, changes, or construction on private or public buildings; redstone, portal, or mechanism interference; or entry into and use of clearly restricted private areas or facilities.
  • A public area does not make its property free to take. The function, structure, and access of public warps, farms, and facilities are protected; theft, obstruction, damage, or unauthorised building there is assessed more seriously by its actual impact.

Player interaction, PVP, and events

  • Do not attack, harm, or kill players outside PVP areas, or harass, provoke, or obstruct play through traps, illegal teaming, portal blocking, confinement, repeated invites, littering, or malicious naming.
  • Do not manipulate, damage, or disrupt events, contests, instances, or public facilities. Separate notices for PVP, events, or special modes also apply.

Community speech, promotion, and privacy

  • No spam, repeated mentions, public insults, threats, discrimination, malicious rumours, or persistent harassment. Do not distribute content promoting self-harm, violence, hatred, sexual material, malicious false attacks, political propaganda, or religious hostility.
  • Do not promote forms, Discord groups, or other servers to redirect, recruit, or invite users, including by providing connection details or repeated comparisons. Context, audience, intent, and actual impact are considered; an objective mention alone is not automatically promotion.
  • Do not expose non-public personal data or publish or use another person's information, images, or protected work without permission.

Reports, investigations, and administration

  • Reports must truthfully identify the parties, events, grounds, and available evidence. Malicious false reports, fabricated or concealed material facts, evidence destruction, threats, and abuse of report, support, feedback, or voting functions are prohibited.
  • Administrators may request further evidence or statements. Parties should stop ongoing conduct and preserve records. Good-faith criticism, reasonable questions, appeals, and constructive proposals are not violations merely because they are negative.

Case-handling process

Administrators are also players, but their assigned management role makes them responsible for intake, investigation, preservation, feedback review, and formal decisions. Anonymous votes and written feedback from general players are part of the current process; the formal result must still follow verifiable evidence, these rules, and the Catnip Terms.

    Intake and preservation

    A report should identify the parties, events, grounds, and available evidence. Private, anonymous, or redacted handling may be used to protect reporters or witnesses. Administrators may obtain lawfully available system records and preserve necessary evidence.

    Notice, statements, and cure

    Relevant parties are normally invited to provide evidence or a statement. Except for a material immediate-termination ground, a first violation of the same game rule receives a reasonable cure period under the Catnip Terms. Failure to respond after a reasonable opportunity does not prevent a decision on available evidence.

    Administrative preliminary review

    Administrators form a preliminary view from the evidence, impact, valid prior records, and applicable rules and record the proposed level and reasons. No single record, status, or subjective impression is conclusive by itself.

    General-player feedback

    Where appropriate, general players anonymously choose invalid, R, SR, SSR, or UR and may give written reasons. Feedback tests the shared understanding of facts, community impact, and proportionality; it must not harass the parties and does not replace evidence.

  5. 5

    Review and final decision

    Where general-player feedback agrees with the preliminary view and no material new evidence appears, the consistent result may be finalised. A disagreement, changed evidence, or exceptional case is reviewed, discussed, or voted on again by administrators. Vote totals and turnout do not decide a case alone.

  6. 6

    Settlement, repair, and appeal

    Settlement, return, or repair before a final decision may resolve or mitigate a case according to its status. Settlement after a final decision does not automatically revoke it. Appeals, corrections, and notices follow the Catnip Terms.

Penalty levels

These are current common grounds, not automatic classifications based on a label alone. Except for material grounds allowing immediate termination under the Catnip Terms, a first violation of the same game rule receives notice and a reasonable cure period. A gameplay restriction applies only after failure to cure or repetition and must remain evidence-based, necessary, and proportionate. Security locks, evidence preservation, and temporary investigative restrictions are not penalty levels.

R1-day ban
  • Continued spam, repeated mentions or invites, command misuse, or irrelevant trade and advertising posts in the wrong channel after warning
  • Minor insults, provocation, harassment, inappropriate or false statements, improper non-PVP attacks, or limited interference with play
  • Improper mentions or comparisons of other servers, or other limited unauthorised promotion
  • Minor misleading conduct, random feedback, or misuse of reporting and support functions after notice, and comparable conduct
SR3-day ban
  • Theft, damage, unauthorised entry, building, or use of private areas and facilities causing identifiable property or building loss
  • Trade fraud or counterfeit goods, or unjustified failure after notice to perform, return received property, or repair harm from a protected trade
  • Attacks, traps, illegal teaming, disruption of events or facilities, or breach of mod, script, and automation restrictions with limited impact and no immediate-termination ground
  • Unauthorised use of information, images, or works; intentional promotional redirection; repeated interference with administrative channels; or more serious R-level conduct
SSR7-day ban
  • Adult content, non-public personal data, serious false attacks, major harassment or threats, and prohibited promotion or trades
  • Serious SR-level conduct, multiple independent violations in one case, or repetition after notice to cure, return, repair, or stop
URService contract terminationOnly for a material termination ground under the Catnip Terms
  • Malicious attacks on or destruction of systems
  • Playing through cheats, viruses, vulnerabilities, or other methods contrary to normal game settings or fair and reasonable play
  • Serious non-cheating harm to fairness or rights through multi-account abuse, laundering, restriction evasion, illegal teaming, or transfer of improper benefits
  • Serious or large-scale theft, damage, explosions, unauthorised building, or impairment of a public warp or facility's function, structure, or public use
  • Purchasing points or in-game products through impersonation, fraud, or other false or improper means
  • Three or more violations for the same cause followed by failure to improve after notice
  • Being identified by a judicial authority as engaging in unlawful conduct

Repeat conduct, settlement, and remedies

Repeat and independent conduct

A subjective assessment of attitude alone does not aggravate a case. Valid prior measures, objective harm, threats, evidence destruction, transfer of improper benefits, refusal to stop, or evasion may be addressed on the specific evidence. Each gameplay restriction is capped at 7 days. Independent violations may be decided and served separately, but one act may not be split to evade the cap.

Settlement and repair

Return, repair, performance, and settlement may objectively resolve or mitigate a case, but do not automatically change a level or a termination ground under the Catnip Terms. CatBud may assist in verifying available records but does not guarantee recovery, valuation, mediation, or enforcement.

Appeal and correction

Players may appeal, rebut, or request correction under the Catnip Terms. An incorrect or unproven decision is restored and remedied as required by the controlling terms. Refusal to respond, coordinate, or compensate is not by itself a service-termination ground.
